Connie's beloved Dad Leo, died in 1957. He left her £500 in his will. It will be seen how Connie used this to fund her love of travel. She was particularly fond of Spain and the Spanish islands. She travelled there several times in an age before package holidays and non-stop flights from the UK. She told me on one trip to Minorca that the plane landed twice for refuelling. Imagine that today. The flights left from Croydon airport and the aircraft were very different from what we are used to today.
